🔍 How to Identify Your LS Engine

For 24x LS Engines (Gen III)

• Examples: LS1, LS6, LQ4, Early LS2

• ⚙️ Look for a black crankshaft reluctor wheel

• ✅ Use Kit 119072 or 119172

For 58x LS Engines (Gen IV)

• Examples: LS3, LS7, LS9, Later LS2

• ⚙️ Look for a gray crankshaft reluctor wheel or a cam gear with four raised areas

• ✅ Use Kit 119075, 119076, 119175, or 119176

🛠️ Installation Checklist

• ✅ 8x LS Ignition Coils (Recommended: PN 119100-8)

⚠️ Special Consideration for 24x LS Engines with Aftermarket Camshafts

If your 24x LS engine uses an aftermarket camshaft, it’s highly recommended to switch to a front-mounted cam sensor. Some aftermarket cam cores can cause the rear-mounted sensor signal to drop out, leading to random misfire codes.

🔧 If you’re currently building a 24x LS engine, it’s the perfect time to make the switch. This upgrade ensures maximum reliability and stable spark timing under all conditions.
