⚠️ Special Consideration for 24x LS Engines with Aftermarket Camshafts
If your 24x LS engine uses an aftermarket camshaft, it’s highly recommended to switch to a front-mounted cam sensor. Some aftermarket cam cores can cause the rear-mounted sensor signal to drop out, leading to random misfire codes.
🔧 If you’re currently building a 24x LS engine, it’s the perfect time to make the switch. This upgrade ensures maximum reliability and stable spark timing under all conditions.
🧩 Parts Required to convert from a LS1 Rear-Mount to Front-Mounted LS2 Cam Sensor:
- Combo Part Includes the GM LS2 Timing Cover, LS2 Front Mount Cam Sensor and Cam Sensor Jumper Harness and Bracket (GM PN 12633906)
- GM 3-bolt 24x Timing Gear (GM PN 12576407)
